Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius has a starchy edible tuber that can be harvested, great for weird plant collectors! Best grown in tropical warm climates, this species loves sandy - barky soil (arid soil), and goes dormant once in a while, dying back to it's tuber, known as a corm. Never water a tuber when it is dormant, as because it can cause serious rot, killing it. Amorphophallus love being fertilized, and watered during growing season, the best fertilizer for them is a tomato based fertilizer, because all they need is in there.

Don't worry if you see your plant leaf dying, as because, it's either going dormant, or replacing its old small leaf for a bigger one. This species reproduces by forming baby bulbs under ground that eventually disconnect, and become independent bulbs, which you can plant in their own pot. When flowering size, (4-6 inch bulb) it will produce a giant purple-green smelly flower like its cousin, the Titan Arum (amorphophallus titanium).
